  31. Installing Graphmatica:
  32. -----------------------
  33. To be able to use the on-line help facility, you should place the six
  34. .HLP files on the same disk and directory as the executable file. Then,
  35. before you run Graphmatica, change the current drive/directory to where
  36. those files are. For example, to install Graphmatica from the disk in
  37. drive A: to some directory C:\GRAPHICS, you would type:
  38.         C:\>copy  a:graphmat.*  c:\graphics
  39.         C:\>copy  a:grmat?.*  c:\graphics
  40.         C:\>copy  a:*.gr  c:\graphics
  41. and to run the program, you would type:
  42.         C:\>cd c:\graphics
  43.         C:\GRAPHICS>graphmat

  46. Notes:
  47. ------
  48. Please do not edit any of the files GRMAT*.HLP. They are formatted
  49. especially for use under the Graphmatica help view function, broken up
  50. into screens of 23 lines. Altering these files may result in abnormal
  51. page breaks and prevent effective use of the online help.

  53. What's new in version 3.50b:
  54. ----------------------------
  55. Added new checking to prevent floating point errors drawing ODEs
  56. that go off screen very steeply.

  61. The following bugs in version 3.50 were fixed:
  62. 1. tanh function incorrectly produced "10^x"
  63. 2. Functions which are not always positive could cause fatal floating point
  64.    errors when graphed with logarithmic graph paper.
  65.  
  66. In addition, I have added routines to trap floating point errors in all
  67. calculations for graphs and drawing graph paper. This should virtually
  68. eliminate the possiblity of crashes due to really complex equations or
  69. really huge or small grid ranges.

  75. Registering:
  76. ------------
  77. For a fee of $25, you can register Graphmatica. Registered users can
  78. use the program indefinitely guilt-free, and will receive a disk with
  79. the next major version on it when it is released, as well as
  80. notification of future upgrades in perpetuity.

  82. Site licenses and special student bulk licensing plans are available.
  83. Site license fees are $85 for the first 10 copies plus $2.50 for each
  84. additional copy. I can accept purchase orders for transactions over
  85. $100, but otherwise please try to write me a check. Please contact me

  88. To register, print out and send in the form found in REGISTER.TXT
  89. (also found at the end of GRAPHMAT.DOC). Or you can register using
  90. CompuServe's Shareware Registration Database ("GO SWREG"). Request
  91. program #111. Read Appendix D in the manual for information about
  92. Shareware.

  125. The latest version of Graphmatica for DOS and Windows will always be
  126. available on CompuServe and on FTP sites on the Internet.

  128. On CompuServe, GO SCIENCE to enter the math & science forum and look in
  129. library 5 (mathematics) for GRMxxD.ZIP (DOS) or GRMxxW.ZIP (Windows),
  130. where xx will be the latest version number.

  132. On the internet, use FTP or gopher to access archives.math.utk.edu
  133. and look in the software/msdos/graphing/grmat directory for the latest
  134. versions. The Windows version is also available at the CICA archives
  135. (ftp.cica.indiana.edu) in the win3/util directory. Both of these sites
  136. are mirrored at a number of places, including wuarchive.wustl.edu.
